tasmiñjanapade ramye purī bhagavatī śubhā | cāturvarṇyasamāyuktā puraprākāramaṃḍitā

Translation

அந்த இனிய நாட்டில் மங்களகரமான, பகவதீயெனப் போற்றத்தக்க ஒளிமிகு நகரம் இருந்தது. அது நான்கு வர்ணங்களும் நிறைந்ததாகவும், நகர மதில்களாலும் கோட்டைகளாலும் அலங்கரிக்கப்பட்டதாகவும் இருந்தது.
