अग्निरित्यादिना भस्म गृहीत्वांगानि संस्पृशेत् । गृह्णीयात्संयते चाग्नौ भस्म तद्गृहवासिनाम्
agnirityādinā bhasma gṛhītvāṃgāni saṃspṛśet | gṛhṇīyātsaṃyate cāgnau bhasma tadgṛhavāsinām
‘அக்னி…’ முதலான மந்திரத்துடன் திருநீற்றை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு உடல் உறுப்புகளைத் தொட வேண்டும்; மேலும் நன்கு பராமரிக்கப்பட்ட புனித அக்னியிலிருந்து இல்லத்தாருக்காக அந்த நீற்றை எடுத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.
