अस्मिन्मन्वन्तरे क्षिप्तः सागरैश्च चतुर्दिशम् । तस्येदं कीर्तितं देवि नाम सागरसंज्ञितम्
asminmanvantare kṣiptaḥ sāgaraiśca caturdiśam | tasyedaṃ kīrtitaṃ devi nāma sāgarasaṃjñitam
தேவி, இந்த மன்வந்தரத்தில் அவர் நான்கு திசைகளிலும் சாகரங்களால் எறியப்பட்டு பரவினார்; ஆகவே இவ்விடம் ‘சாகர’ என்ற நாமத்தால் போற்றப்படுகிறது.
