एते सर्वे विनश्यंति ब्रह्मणो दिवसे प्रिये । रात्रिस्तु तावती ज्ञेया कल्पमानमिदं स्मृतम्

அன்பே! பிரம்மாவின் ஒரு பகலில் இவர்கள் அனைவரும் அழிந்து லயமடைகின்றனர். அதே அளவிலேயே பிரம்மாவின் இரவும் என அறிய வேண்டும்—இதுவே கல்பத்தின் அளவு என்று ஸ்மிருதி கூறுகிறது.
