एवं स्तुतस्तदा सर्वैरृषिभिर्गतकल्मषैः । ततस्तुष्टो महादेवस्तेषां प्रत्यक्षतां गतः । अब्रवीत्तानृषीन्देवो वृणुध्वं वरमुत्तमम्
evaṃ stutastadā sarvairṛṣibhirgatakalmaṣaiḥ | tatastuṣṭo mahādevasteṣāṃ pratyakṣatāṃ gataḥ | abravīttānṛṣīndevo vṛṇudhvaṃ varamuttamam
இவ்வாறு பாவம் நீங்கிய அனைத்து ரிஷிகளாலும் ஸ்துதிக்கப்பட, மகாதேவன் மகிழ்ந்து அவர்களுக்கு முன் நேரில் வெளிப்பட்டான். பின்னர் தேவர் அந்த ரிஷிகளிடம், “உத்தம வரத்தைத் தேர்ந்தெடுங்கள்” என்று கூறினார்.
