गौर्युवाच । सापत्न्यजेर्ष्यया देव मया लिंगं प्रकल्पितम् । तस्मात्कटेश्वराख्या च लोके चास्य भविष्यति
gauryuvāca | sāpatnyajerṣyayā deva mayā liṃgaṃ prakalpitam | tasmātkaṭeśvarākhyā ca loke cāsya bhaviṣyati
கௌரி கூறினாள்—ஓ தேவா! சபத்னி (சௌதன்) போட்டியால் எழுந்த பொறாமையால் நான் இந்த லிங்கத்தை அமைத்தேன்; ஆகையால் உலகில் இது ‘கடேஸ்வர’ என்ற பெயராலும் விளங்கும்।
