देवा ऊचुः । कलिंगेन वयं देवि निरस्ताः संगरे मुहुः । तेन व्याप्तमिदं सर्वं त्रैलोक्यं सचराचरम्
devā ūcuḥ | kaliṃgena vayaṃ devi nirastāḥ saṃgare muhuḥ | tena vyāptamidaṃ sarvaṃ trailokyaṃ sacarācaram
தேவர்கள் கூறினர்—ஓ தேவி, கலிங்கன் போரில் எங்களை மீண்டும் மீண்டும் தள்ளி வென்றுவிட்டான். அவனால் இந்த முழு மூவுலகும்—சராசரங்களுடன்—ஆக்கிரமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது।
