श्रीभगवानुवाच । एष आसीत्पुरा राजा मेघवाहनसंज्ञितः । ब्रह्मण्यश्च कृतज्ञश्च सर्वशास्त्रार्थपारगः
śrībhagavānuvāca | eṣa āsītpurā rājā meghavāhanasaṃjñitaḥ | brahmaṇyaśca kṛtajñaśca sarvaśāstrārthapāragaḥ
ஸ்ரீபகவான் உரைத்தார்—முன்னொரு காலத்தில் இவன் மேகவாஹனன் என்னும் அரசன்; பிராமணபக்தன், நன்றியுணர்வுடையவன், எல்லா சாஸ்திரார்த்தங்களிலும் தேர்ந்தவன்.
