अथ दृष्टः शुकस्तैश्च भ्रममाणैर्महावने । भोभोः शुक त्वया वह्निर्यदि दृष्टो निवेद्यताम्
atha dṛṣṭaḥ śukastaiśca bhramamāṇairmahāvane | bhobhoḥ śuka tvayā vahniryadi dṛṣṭo nivedyatām
அப்போது மாபெரும் வனத்தில் அலைந்து சென்ற அவர்கள் ஒரு சுகன் (கிளி) என்பதைக் கண்டனர். அவர்கள் கூறினர்—“ஓ சுகனே! நீ அக்னியை கண்டிருந்தால் எமக்கு அறிவி.”
