वृत्र उवाच । यावत्तिष्ठति सुत्रामा तावन्नास्ति सुखं मम । तस्मान्निष्कंटकार्थाय यतिष्येऽहं द्विजोत्तम
vṛtra uvāca | yāvattiṣṭhati sutrāmā tāvannāsti sukhaṃ mama | tasmānniṣkaṃṭakārthāya yatiṣye'haṃ dvijottama
விருத்திரன் கூறினான்—சுத்ராமா (இந்திரன்) நிலைத்திருக்கும் வரை எனக்கு இன்பம் இல்லை. ஆகவே முள்ளுகள் (எதிரிகள்) அகல நான் முயல்வேன், ஓ இருமுறை பிறந்தோரில் சிறந்தவரே।
