सूत उवाच । आसीत्पूर्वं महीपाल इक्ष्वाकुकुलनन्दनः । रुद्रसेन इति ख्यातः सर्वशत्रुनिषूदनः
sūta uvāca | āsītpūrvaṃ mahīpāla ikṣvākukulanandanaḥ | rudrasena iti khyātaḥ sarvaśatruniṣūdanaḥ
சூதன் கூறினான்— முற்காலத்தில் இக்ஷ்வாகு குலத்தின் மகிழ்வாகிய ஒரு மஹீபாலன் (பூமியின் அரசன்) இருந்தான்; ‘ருத்ரசேனன்’ எனப் புகழ்பெற்று, எல்லா பகைவரையும் அழிப்பவன் ஆவான்.
