इति श्रीस्कांदे महापुराण एकाशीतिसाहस्र्यां संहितायां षष्ठे नागरखंडे श्रीहाटकेवरक्षेत्रमाहात्म्ये विश्वामित्रकुण्डोत्पत्ति विश्वामित्रेश्वरमाहात्म्यवर्णनंनाम चतुश्चत्वारिंशत्तमोऽध्यायः
iti śrīskāṃde mahāpurāṇa ekāśītisāhasryāṃ saṃhitāyāṃ ṣaṣṭhe nāgarakhaṃḍe śrīhāṭakevarakṣetramāhātmye viśvāmitrakuṇḍotpatti viśvāmitreśvaramāhātmyavarṇanaṃnāma catuścatvāriṃśattamo'dhyāyaḥ
இவ்வாறு ஸ்ரீஸ்காந்த மகாபுராணத்தின் எண்பத்தொன்றாயிரச் செய்யுள் கொண்ட ஸம்ஹிதையில், ஆறாம் நூலான நாகரகண்டத்தில், ஸ்ரீஹாடகேவரக் க்ஷேத்ரமஹாத்மியத்தில் ‘விஸ்வாமித்ர குண்டத்தின் தோற்றமும் விஸ்வாமித்ரேஸ்வர மஹாத்மிய வர்ணனமும்’ எனும் நாற்பத்துநான்காம் அத்தியாயம் நிறைவுற்றது.
