शक्र उवाच । बाष्कलिर्नाम देत्येन्द्रो हरलब्धवरो बली । अजेयः संगरे देवैस्तेनाहं विजितो रणे
śakra uvāca | bāṣkalirnāma detyendro haralabdhavaro balī | ajeyaḥ saṃgare devaistenāhaṃ vijito raṇe
சக்ரன் (இந்திரன்) கூறினான்—‘பாஷ்கலி என்னும் ஒரு தைத்யேந்திரன் இருக்கிறான்; ஹரன் (சிவன்) அருளிய வரம் பெற்றதால் மிகுந்த வலிமையுடையவன். தேவர்களாலும் போரில் வெல்ல இயலாத அவன், யுத்தத்தில் என்னைத் தோற்கடித்தான்.’
