yatra pūrvaṃ tapastaptaṃ viśvāmitreṇa dhīmatā | triśaṃkorbhūmipālasya kṛte tīrthe mahātmanā

இதுவே அந்தத் தீர்த்தம்; முற்காலத்தில் அறிவுமிக்க மகாத்மா விசுவாமித்திரர் இங்கு கடுந்தவம் செய்து, பூபதி திரிசங்குவின் நலனுக்காக இந்தத் தீர்த்தத்தை நிறுவினார்.
