इति श्रीस्कांदे महापुराण एकाशीतिसाहस्र्यां संहितायां षष्ठे नागरखण्डे हाटकेश्वरक्षेत्रमाहात्म्ये जलशाय्युपाख्याने चातुर्मास्यव्रतनियमवर्णनंनाम द्वात्रिंशदुत्तरद्विशतमोऽध्यायः
iti śrīskāṃde mahāpurāṇa ekāśītisāhasryāṃ saṃhitāyāṃ ṣaṣṭhe nāgarakhaṇḍe hāṭakeśvarakṣetramāhātmye jalaśāyyupākhyāne cāturmāsyavrataniyamavarṇanaṃnāma dvātriṃśaduttaradviśatamo'dhyāyaḥ
இவ்வாறு ஸ்ரீ ஸ்கந்த மகாபுராணத்தின் எண்பத்தொன்றாயிரச் செய்யுள் கொண்ட தொகுப்பில், ஆறாம் நூலான நாகரகண்டத்தில், ஹாடகேஸ்வர க்ஷேத்ரமாஹாத்ம்யத்தின் ஜலசாய்யு உபாக்யானத்தில், “சாத்துர்மாஸ்ய விரத-நியம வர்ணனம்” எனப் பெயருடைய இருநூற்று முப்பத்திரண்டாம் அத்தியாயம் நிறைவுற்றது।
