सूत उवाच । पूर्वं तत्र महारण्ये नानामृगगणावृते । नानाविहंगसंघुष्टे नानावृक्षसमाकुले
sūta uvāca | pūrvaṃ tatra mahāraṇye nānāmṛgagaṇāvṛte | nānāvihaṃgasaṃghuṣṭe nānāvṛkṣasamākule
சூதர் கூறினார்—முன்னொரு காலத்தில் அங்கே ஒரு மாபெரும் காடு இருந்தது; பலவகை மிருகக் கூட்டங்களால் நிரம்பி, விதவிதப் பறவைகளின் ஒலியால் முழங்கிக், பலவகை மரங்களால் அடர்ந்திருந்தது.
