अहो मे तनयोऽभीष्टः कथमद्य न दृश्यते । कूपांतः पतितः किं नु किं व्यालैर्वा निपातितः
aho me tanayo'bhīṣṭaḥ kathamadya na dṛśyate | kūpāṃtaḥ patitaḥ kiṃ nu kiṃ vyālairvā nipātitaḥ
அய்யோ! என் அன்பு மகன் இன்று ஏன் காணப்படவில்லை? அவன் கிணற்றுக்குள் விழுந்தானோ, அல்லது ஏதோ கொடிய விலங்கு அவனைத் தாக்கி வீழ்த்தியதோ?
