एवं ब्रुवंति लोकेऽत्र धनिनां पुरतः स्थिताः । कुलीना अपि पापानां दृश्यंते धनलिप्सया । दरिद्रस्य मनुष्यस्य क्षितौ राज्यं प्रकुर्वतः
evaṃ bruvaṃti loke'tra dhanināṃ purataḥ sthitāḥ | kulīnā api pāpānāṃ dṛśyaṃte dhanalipsayā | daridrasya manuṣyasya kṣitau rājyaṃ prakurvataḥ
இந்த உலகில் செல்வந்தரின் முன் நிற்போர் இவ்வாறே பேசுவர். பண ஆசையால் உயர்குலத்தாரும் பாவச் செயல்களில் ஈடுபடுவது காணப்படும்—குறிப்பாக ஒரு ஏழை மனிதன் பூமியில் ஆட்சியை நிறுவ முயன்றால்.
