प्रष्टव्या च ततो माता तस्याश्चापि च या भवेत् । जननी चापि प्रष्टव्या तस्याश्चापि च या भवेत्
praṣṭavyā ca tato mātā tasyāścāpi ca yā bhavet | jananī cāpi praṣṭavyā tasyāścāpi ca yā bhavet
பின்னர் அவளது தாயை வினவ வேண்டும்; அவளது தாயின் தாயான நானியையும் வினவ வேண்டும். அதுபோலத் தாய்வழிப் பரம்பரையில் உள்ள முன்னோர் தாய்மாரையும் கேட்டு, தாய்வம்சத்தை நுணுக்கமாகச் சோதிக்க வேண்டும்।
