निर्दोषो ब्राह्मणश्रेष्ठ तस्माच्छापात्प्ररक्ष माम् । तच्छ्रुत्वा च्यवनं प्राह कृपाविष्टो भृगुः स्वयम्
nirdoṣo brāhmaṇaśreṣṭha tasmācchāpātprarakṣa mām | tacchrutvā cyavanaṃ prāha kṛpāviṣṭo bhṛguḥ svayam
ஓ பிராமணச் சிறந்தவரே, நான் குற்றமற்றவன்; ஆகவே இந்தச் சாபத்திலிருந்து என்னைக் காக்கவும். இதைக் கேட்ட ப்ருகு கருணையால் நிறைந்து, தாமே ச்யவனனை நோக்கி உரைத்தார்।
