Transliteration

siṃhavyāghraistathā cānyaiḥ patitā naṣṭacetanāḥ | bhakṣyaṃte cetayanto'pi tathā'nye calanākṣamāḥ

Translation

சிலர் சிங்கம், புலி முதலிய பிற விலங்குகளால் வீழ்த்தப்பட்டு மயங்கிய நிலையில் உண்டாக்கப்பட்டனர்; இன்னும் சிலர் உணர்வுடன் இருந்தும் நகர இயலாததால், அவர்களும் இரையாகினர்।
