अन्धक उवाच । पितास्माकं हतो देवैः पितृव्यश्च महाबलः । कपटेन न शौर्येण तस्मात्तान्सूदयाम्यहम्
andhaka uvāca | pitāsmākaṃ hato devaiḥ pitṛvyaśca mahābalaḥ | kapaṭena na śauryeṇa tasmāttānsūdayāmyaham
அந்தகன் கூறினான்—தேவர்கள் எங்கள் தந்தையையும், மிகப் பலமுள்ள எங்கள் பெரியப்பனையும் கொன்றனர்; அது வீரத்தால் அல்ல, வஞ்சகத்தால். ஆகவே அவர்களை நான் அழிப்பேன்।
