शंख उवाच । यदि तुष्टोसि मे देव वरं चेद्यच्छसि प्रभो । स्यातां मे तादृशौ हस्तौ भूयोऽपि सुरसत्तम

சங்கு கூறினான்—ஹே தேவா! நீர் என்மேல் திருப்தியாயிருந்து, ஆண்டவா வரம் அளிக்க விரும்பினால், ஹே தேவர்களில் சிறந்தவரே, எனக்கு முன்புபோலவே இரு கைகளும் மீண்டும் உண்டாகட்டும்।
