ṛṣaya ūcuḥ | harasya pūjyate liṃgaṃ kasmādatanmahāmate | viśeṣātsaṃparityajya śeṣāṃgāni surāsuraiḥ

ரிஷிகள் கூறினர்—மகாமதியே, ஹரனின் (சிவனின்) பிற அங்கங்களை விட்டு விட்டு, குறிப்பாக தேவர்களும் அசுரர்களும் ஏன் அவரது லிங்கத்தையே வழிபடுகின்றனர்?
