जलं किं नु स्थलं तत्र न विदुस्तत्त्वतो जनाः । क्वचित्सिंहाः क्वचिद्धंसाः सारसाश्च महाप्रभाः

Transliteration

jalaṃ kiṃ nu sthalaṃ tatra na vidustattvato janāḥ | kvacitsiṃhāḥ kvaciddhaṃsāḥ sārasāśca mahāprabhāḥ

Translation

அங்கே மக்கள் அது நீரா நிலமா என்று உண்மையாக அறிய முடியவில்லை. சில இடங்களில் சிங்கங்கள், சில இடங்களில் அன்னங்கள், மற்ற இடங்களில் ஒளிவீசும் சாரசப் பறவைகள் இருந்தன।
