तां दृष्ट्वा सु विशालाक्षीं रतिं मदनमोहिनीम् । उवाच प्रहसन्वाक्यं शंबरो देवसंकटः
tāṃ dṛṣṭvā su viśālākṣīṃ ratiṃ madanamohinīm | uvāca prahasanvākyaṃ śaṃbaro devasaṃkaṭaḥ
மதனனையும் மயக்கும் அகன்ற கண்களை உடைய ரதியைக் கண்டு, தேவர்களுக்குத் துன்பம் விளைவிக்கும் சம்பரன் சிரித்துக்கொண்டே கூறினான்.
