मुष्टिभिः पार्ष्णिघातैश्च जानुभिश्चाभिजघ्नतुः । ततो मुहूर्तात्कौरव्यः पर्यहीयत पांडवः
muṣṭibhiḥ pārṣṇighātaiśca jānubhiścābhijaghnatuḥ | tato muhūrtātkauravyaḥ paryahīyata pāṃḍavaḥ
அவர்கள் குத்துகளாலும், குதிகால் அடிகளாலும், முழங்கால்களாலும் ஒருவரையொருவர் தாக்கினர். சிறிது நேரத்தில் கௌரவன் மேலிடத்தைப் பெற்றான்; பாண்டவன் தளரத் தொடங்கினான்.
