शौनक उवाच । सूत श्रुता पुरास्माभिरुत्पत्तिर्गणपस्य च । क्षेत्रनाथः कथं जज्ञे वदैतच्छृण्वतां हि नः
śaunaka uvāca | sūta śrutā purāsmābhirutpattirgaṇapasya ca | kṣetranāthaḥ kathaṃ jajñe vadaitacchṛṇvatāṃ hi naḥ
சௌனகர் கூறினார்— ஓ சூதரே! முன்பு கணபதியின் தோற்றத்தை நாம் கேட்டோம்; இப்போது க்ஷேத்ரநாதர் எவ்வாறு தோன்றினார்? கேட்கும் எங்களுக்கு விளக்கமாகச் சொல்லுங்கள்।
