इति चिंतयतश्चित्ते हा दुःखोऽयं प्रतिग्रहः । प्रतिग्रहेण विप्राणां ब्राहयं तेजो हि शाम्यति
iti ciṃtayataścitte hā duḥkho'yaṃ pratigrahaḥ | pratigraheṇa viprāṇāṃ brāhayaṃ tejo hi śāmyati
உள்ளத்தில் இவ்வாறு சிந்தித்தேன்—‘அய்யோ, இந்தப் பரிசு ஏற்றல் மிகத் துயரமானது!’ ஏனெனில் பரிசு ஏற்றலால் பிராமணர்களின் பிராஹ்ம தேஜஸ் நிச்சயமாகத் தளர்கிறது.
