नारद उवाच । अथान्यत्संप्रवक्ष्यामि शालामाहात्म्य मुत्तमम् । संस्थापिते पुरा स्थाने प्रोक्तोहं द्विजपुंगवैः
nārada uvāca | athānyatsaṃpravakṣyāmi śālāmāhātmya muttamam | saṃsthāpite purā sthāne proktohaṃ dvijapuṃgavaiḥ
நாரதர் கூறினார்—இப்போது நான் இன்னொரு சிறந்த வரலாற்றை உரைப்பேன்—‘சாலா’வின் மஹாத்மியம். முற்காலத்தில் நிறுவப்பட்ட அந்தப் புனிதத் தலத்தில் உயர்ந்த பிராமணர்கள் இதை எனக்கு உபதேசித்தனர்।
