अंधे तमसि किं दृश्यो गंधान्मोहं दृढं लभेत् । शीते मात्रा जले पीते शीतमुष्णं तथोष्णके
aṃdhe tamasi kiṃ dṛśyo gaṃdhānmohaṃ dṛḍhaṃ labhet | śīte mātrā jale pīte śītamuṣṇaṃ tathoṣṇake
கடும் இருளில் அது என்ன காண முடியும்? மணங்களால் அது உறுதியான மயக்கத்தில் வீழ்கிறது. தாய் குளிர்ந்த நீர் குடித்தால் குளிர் உணர்கிறது; அதுபோல தாய் சூடானவற்றை எடுத்தால் கருவிலிருப்பவனும் வெப்பத்தை உணர்கிறான்.
