क्लेशेन कृत्वा कूपं वा स च क्षारोदको वृथा । बहुक्लेशैर्जन्म नीतं विना धर्मं तथा वृथा
kleśena kṛtvā kūpaṃ vā sa ca kṣārodako vṛthā | bahukleśairjanma nītaṃ vinā dharmaṃ tathā vṛthā
மிகுந்த முயற்சியால் கிணறு தோண்டியும் அதன் நீர் உவர்நீராக இருந்தால் அந்த உழைப்பு வீண். அதுபோல பல துன்பங்களில் சென்ற வாழ்வும், தர்மமின்றி இருந்தால் வீணே.
