gṛhaprāsādavidyābhūgokūpaprāṇahāṭakam | etānyuttamadānāni uttamadravyadānataḥ

Translation

வீடு, மாளிகை, கல்வி-தானம், நிலம், பசுக்கள், கிணறு, உயிர் காப்பு, பொன்—இவை ‘உத்தம தானங்கள்’; ஏனெனில் இவை உயர்ந்த பொருள்களையும் வாழ்வாதாரங்களையும் அளிக்கும் தானம்.
