संसदि व्रीडयाऽश्रुत्य आर्थिभ्यः प्रददाति च । प्रतिदीयते च यद्दानं व्रीडादानमिति श्रुतम्
saṃsadi vrīḍayā'śrutya ārthibhyaḥ pradadāti ca | pratidīyate ca yaddānaṃ vrīḍādānamiti śrutam
சபையில் வெட்கத்தாலும் பழிச்சொல் பயத்தாலும் வேண்டுவோர்க்கு அளிக்கப்படும் தானமும், அதற்குப் பதிலாக மீண்டும் கொடுக்கப் பெறப்படும் பிரதிதானமும்—இது ‘வ்ரீடாதானம்’ என அறியப்படுகிறது।
