उत्थाय तारको दैत्यः कदा चिन्नो निहंति चेत् । तं तथा पतितं दृष्ट्वा वसुधामण्डले गुहः
utthāya tārako daityaḥ kadā cinno nihaṃti cet | taṃ tathā patitaṃ dṛṣṭvā vasudhāmaṇḍale guhaḥ
“அசுரன் தாரகன் மீண்டும் எழுந்தால், நம்மை கொல்லாமல் விடுவானா?”—என்ற அச்சத்துடன், பூமிவட்டத்தில் அவன் விழுந்து கிடப்பதைக் கண்டு குகன் (ஸ்கந்தன்) அவ்வாறு எண்ணினான்.
