स्कंदप्रसादजः पुत्रो लोहिताक्षो भयंकरः । एष वीराष्टकः प्रोक्तः स्कंदमातृगणोऽद्भुतः
skaṃdaprasādajaḥ putro lohitākṣo bhayaṃkaraḥ | eṣa vīrāṣṭakaḥ proktaḥ skaṃdamātṛgaṇo'dbhutaḥ
ஸ்கந்தனின் அருளால் லோஹிதாக்ஷன் எனும் பயங்கரத் தோற்றமுடைய மகன் பிறந்தான். இதுவே ‘வீராஷ்டகம்’ என்று கூறப்படுகிறது—ஸ்கந்த மாத்ருகணத்தின் அதிசயக் கூட்டம்.
