ततः सर्वानपृच्छत्स कुलं कोऽपि न वेद तत् । ततो विष्णुरिदं प्राह पृछ्यंतेऽन्ये किमर्थतः
tataḥ sarvānapṛcchatsa kulaṃ ko'pi na veda tat | tato viṣṇuridaṃ prāha pṛchyaṃte'nye kimarthataḥ
பின்னர் அவன் அனைவரிடமும் (மணமகனின்) குலத்தைப் பற்றி கேட்டான்; ஆனால் யாருக்கும் அது தெரியவில்லை. அப்போது விஷ்ணு கூறினார்: “மற்றவர்களைக் கேட்பதன் பயன் என்ன?”
