नारद उवाच । एवं विप्रकृता देवा महेंद्रसहितास्तदा । ययुः स्वायंभुवं दाम मर्करूपमुपाश्रिताः
nārada uvāca | evaṃ viprakṛtā devā maheṃdrasahitāstadā | yayuḥ svāyaṃbhuvaṃ dāma markarūpamupāśritāḥ
நாரதர் கூறினார்—இவ்வாறு துன்புறுத்தப்பட்டு தாழ்த்தப்பட்ட தேவர்கள், மகேந்திரனுடன் சேர்ந்து, அப்போது ஸ்வயம்பூ பரமனின் திருத்தலத்திற்குச் சென்றனர்; குரங்கு வடிவம் ஏற்று (மறைவேடத்தில்)।
