प्रसादयंति बहुधा महाकर्णार्थकोविदाः । केचिद्वदन्ति भो देवा भो दैत्याः प्रार्थयामहे
prasādayaṃti bahudhā mahākarṇārthakovidāḥ | kecidvadanti bho devā bho daityāḥ prārthayāmahe
‘மஹாகர்ண’ என்ற பொருளை உணர்வதில் தேர்ந்தவர்கள் அவனை பலவிதமாக சமாதானப்படுத்த முயன்றனர். சிலர்— “ஓ தேவர்களே! ஓ தைத்யர்களே! நாங்கள் வேண்டுகிறோம்!” என்றனர்.
