आरेभिरे क्रियायोगं मार्कंडनृपपूर्वकाः । तेषां तपस्यतामेवं समाजग्मे कदाचन । तीर्थयात्रानुषंगेन लोमशालोकनोत्सुकः
ārebhire kriyāyogaṃ mārkaṃḍanṛpapūrvakāḥ | teṣāṃ tapasyatāmevaṃ samājagme kadācana | tīrthayātrānuṣaṃgena lomaśālokanotsukaḥ
மார்கண்ட அரசனை முன்னிட்டு அவர்கள் கிரியாயோக சாதனையைத் தொடங்கினர். அவர்கள் இவ்வாறு தவத்தில் ஈடுபட்டிருந்தபோது, ஒருகாலத்தில் தீர்த்தயாத்திரைச் சூழலில் லோமசர் அவர்களைப் பார்க்க ஆவலுடன் அங்கு வந்தடைந்தார்.
