यदि जानासि तं ब्रूहि सुहृत्संगो न निष्फलः । ततोऽहमब्रवं तांश्च विचार्येदं पुनःपुनः
yadi jānāsi taṃ brūhi suhṛtsaṃgo na niṣphalaḥ | tato'hamabravaṃ tāṃśca vicāryedaṃ punaḥpunaḥ
‘நீங்கள் அவரை அறிந்திருந்தால் சொல்லுங்கள்; நல்வாழ்த்தும் நண்பரின் சங்கம் ஒருபோதும் பயனற்றதல்ல.’ பின்னர் நான் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் சிந்தித்து அவர்களிடம் இவ்வாறு கூறினேன்.
