पश्य जानुप्रदेशं मे द्व्यंगुलं रोमवर्जितम् । जातं वपुस्तद्बिभेमि मर्तव्ये सति किं गृहैः

Transliteration

paśya jānupradeśaṃ me dvyaṃgulaṃ romavarjitam | jātaṃ vapustadbibhemi martavye sati kiṃ gṛhaiḥ

Translation

'என் முழங்கால் பகுதியைப் பார், இரண்டு விரல் அளவு முடி இல்லாமல் போய்விட்டது. உடலின் இந்த மாற்றத்தைக் கண்டு நான் பயப்படுகிறேன். மரணம் நிச்சயம் எனும் போது, வீடுகளால் என்ன பயன்?'
