कौशिकोऽथ तमाहेदं प्रहस्य वचनं स्वयम् । कस्मात्कूर्म प्रनष्टोद्य विमुखोऽभ्यागतेष्वपि
kauśiko'tha tamāhedaṃ prahasya vacanaṃ svayam | kasmātkūrma pranaṣṭodya vimukho'bhyāgateṣvapi
அப்போது கௌசிகன் புன்னகையுடன் தானே அவனை நோக்கி கூறினான்— “ஓ ஆமை! இன்று ஏன் மறைந்தாய்? விருந்தினர்கள் வந்திருந்தும் ஏன் முகம் திருப்பினாய்?”
