व्यास उवाच । शृणु सूत महाबुद्धे यथा स्कंदेन भाषितम् । भविष्यं मम तस्याग्रे कुंभयोने महामते
vyāsa uvāca | śṛṇu sūta mahābuddhe yathā skaṃdena bhāṣitam | bhaviṣyaṃ mama tasyāgre kuṃbhayone mahāmate
வியாசர் கூறினார்—மகாபுத்தியுடைய சூதரே, ஸ்கந்தன் உரைத்ததுபோலக் கேளுங்கள். மேலும் அந்த மகாமதி கும்பயோனி (அகஸ்த்யர்) முன்னிலையில் எனைப்பற்றி சொல்லப்பட்ட வருங்காலத்தையும் கேளுங்கள்.
