Narrator (Kāśīkhaṇḍa narration traditionally Skanda → Agastya)
Tirtha: Kāśī-kṣetra (contextual frame)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Ṛṣis/pilgrims (frame audience)
Scene: Pramathas overpower Viṣṇu’s attendants; some are pinned down, tufts of grass forced into their mouths, heads partly shaven, faces contorted in shame; the yajña ground is strewn with ritual items and broken garlands.
Adharma in sacrificial pride leads to disgrace; when devotion is severed from humility, even powerful factions become subject to humiliation.
Kāśī is the overarching sacred setting of the Kāśīkhaṇḍa, though this verse itself is not a direct tīrtha-mahātmya statement.
None; the verse uses imagery of degradation rather than prescribing rites.
