madhuraṃ mṛdulaṃ satyaṃ svapramāṇaṃ susaṃskṛtam | hitaṃ mitaṃ sadṛṣṭāṃtaṃ śrutvā pakṣisubhāṣitam

Translation

பறவைகளின் சுபாஷிதமான சொற்கள்—இனிமை, மென்மை, உண்மை, தன்னிச்சையான பிரமாணம், நன்கு செம்மைப்படுத்தப்பட்டவை; நன்மை தருவன, அளவோடு கூறப்பட்டவை, உரிய உதாரணங்களால் உறுதிப்படுத்தப்பட்டவை—என்று கேட்டு (அவன்) உள்ளம் உருகினான்।
