अधीतिनोपि मूर्खाश्च स्वामिनः सेवका अपि । चतुर्षु भूतग्रामेषु उत्तमाधममध्यमाः
adhītinopi mūrkhāśca svāminaḥ sevakā api | caturṣu bhūtagrāmeṣu uttamādhamamadhyamāḥ
நாங்கள் கல்வி கற்றிருந்தும் மூடர்களாயிருந்தோம்; ஒருபோது ஆண்டவர்களாய், ஒருபோது பணியாளர்களாயும் இருந்தோம். நான்கு உயிர்க்கூட்டங்களில் உயர்ந்தோர், தாழ்ந்தோர், நடுத்தரர் எனப் பல நிலைகளில் அலைந்தோம்.
