Skanda (deduced for Kāśīkhaṇḍa context)
Tirtha: Vālmīkeśvara-liṅga (Kāśī)
Type: temple
Listener: Agastya (Ghaṭodbhava)
Scene: A quiet liṅga on the left side of the prior shrine; a grieving pilgrim approaches, beholds the liṅga, and their face softens into calm; the atmosphere becomes still and luminous.
In Kāśī, mere darśana of Śiva’s sacred form is taught as a direct remedy for sorrow.
Vālmīkeśvara Liṅga, described as being to the left of the previously indicated sacred reference point.
Saṃdarśana (devotional viewing) is the stated practice; no additional rite is specified in this verse.
