Transliteration

gāyatrī vedajananī gāyatrī brāhmaṇaprasūḥ | gātāraṃ trāyate yasmādgāyatrī tena gīyate

Translation

காயத்ரீ வேதங்களின் தாய்; காயத்ரீ பிராமணர்களை உண்டாக்குபவள். ஜபிப்பவனை/பாடுபவனை (காதா) காக்கிறதால் அவள் ‘காயத்ரீ’ எனப் போற்றப்படுகிறாள்.
