अगस्त्य उवाच । साक्षन्मोक्षो न चैतासु पुरीषु प्रियभाषिणि । पुरोद्दिश्यामुमेवार्थमितिहासो मयाश्रुतः
agastya uvāca | sākṣanmokṣo na caitāsu purīṣu priyabhāṣiṇi | puroddiśyāmumevārthamitihāso mayāśrutaḥ
அகஸ்தியர் கூறினார்—இனிய மொழியாளே! இந்நகரங்களில் மோட்சம் உடனடியாகத் தானாகக் கிடைப்பதில்லை. இதே பொருளைப்பற்றி நான் ஒரு பழம்பெரும் இதிகாசத்தை கேட்டுள்ளேன்।
